About us / Forward or history

The Nigerian Cultural Dance Group (NCDG) was founded by Prince Anayo Nwakamma(Ayotex) in 1995.With his inspiration and that of the other pioneer members, the Group has gain a real reputation and is a reference in terms of cultural promotion in an outside the Netherlands.

In 1997 the group officially was set as a foundation in the Netherlands. Since then we have been working hard towards improvement and today, this group can be seen in various Cultural theatres around the Netherlands and outside the country.

All those years the Nigerian Cultural Dance Group has positioned itself has a vector of a very traditional way of dancing and singing. Most of our dances are the same ones our brothers and sisters still dance in our villages.

Most of our music and songs find their origin in Eastern Nigeria, in the Igbo Land. Our mission is to create awareness about our culture not only for that specific region in Nigeria but also for Africa.

From 1995 up to now the group has successfully become a Nigerian and African cultural promoter and is actively working on diversification because the group has grown and is more diverse than at its creation.
