Samples / Ebuebu

Ebuebu means something that you cannot carry or raise up. In olden days when villages went to war with each other or organise wrestlings when there were no wars in order to measure out which village is stronger in the region and which person is a hero to the village.

The people of Ogbaeruru in the Orlu zonal region of Nigeria used this dance to welcome their heros back home after wrestling and and to show that no one can play with their village or people. They used it to celebrate truimph.
