My name is Kossiwa; I found my origins in Togo where I spent the first 7 years of my life. Even though I was brought up in southern France I have always been very strongly related to my roots and family back home.
I have worked with various West African choreographs back in France and London. I started dancing when I was 13 years old. Dancing has always been for me the most natural and sensual way to express my feelings. I have tried myself in many different dances, Modern Jazz, contemporan and Oriental, but I found my way when I really got in touch with the African Ethnic dances.
Being involved in our dance group is for me the daily connection to my homeland. We share the joy and we share the experience of togetherness. Our vision can be resumed by the following: “If one doesn’t know where he is or where he is going to, he shall always remember where he is coming from”.
